Steel plate punched retainer or entity retainer are commonly used with cylindrical roller bearings. But retainers made of fiber glass re-enforced nylon 66 are also used for the temperature fo-20-120° C, orfor150° C short time operation.

Cylindrical roller bearings with stopping ring groove
The cylindrical roller bearings SL04, 50 and SL 04 series, the bearings with single face or double face sealing are positioning bearings of two line and full-rollers. A complete unit is directly assembled with inner ring, rollers and outer ring. The cylindrical rollers are guided by the inner retaining edge while there is a entity middle retaining edge on the outer ring. There are two circle grooves on the outer surface. It is easily positioned in axial direction with the stopping ring. The seat width may be smaller than the width of the bearing so as to reduce the axial directional space requirement.

Mounting
The bearing groove will only stick to the shaft shoulder or the outer casing shoulder. It can not be clipped by the shaft or the chamfered angle of the outer casing. Therefore, the maximum radius of the combinative parts must be smaller than the minimum value of the chamfered angle of the cylindrical roller bearings, for the fitting of P or PP series bearings, the sealing rings must get enough support to prevent from being pushed out in re-lubricating. The separable inner ring must be clipped tightly in axial direction if there exit the axial direction force in operation. Meanwhile, for the tightly combined bearings bush ring, no mounting or dismounting forces are allowed to be transferred directly through rollers or retaining edges during mounting, or dismounting.
